His Will be Done.

Dear brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ our Lord, the Son, of God who came to us in the flesh for our redemption, may He bless you and His love be a spring of life giving water within you.

As we are going through this time of the year when many become festive as we remember the great gift to the world, the gift of God's great love stamped out in a little baby and the Holy Spirit fills our hearts with joy, I was reminded of the words of Jesus as He was praying to the heavenly Father, His words ultimately signaling His complete trust in the Father, Jesus said "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.", Jesus went through great hardship and endured for the will of the Father, but it was also the will of the Father to show His love for us even at this time we must not be duped into romanticizing the story too much. Let me just remind us of a few points.

1. Mary confronted by an Angel a fearful thing
2. Mary told she will bear a son even though she was a virgin and it would bring trouble for her, her family he betrothed and his family.
3. Joseph devastated thinking that Mary had cheated on Him.
4. Joseph confronted by an Angel.
5. Mary and Joseph had a hard travel to Bethlehem while pregnant.
6. Mary and Joseph had no comfortable place to stay.

BUT here is the answer

In doing God's will, He is with us and for us, providing sufficient, in doing His will His angels guard us, His will redeems us and gives us hope. There is a common thread in each place man loses control or has no control over the situation how fearful it is when we are completely out of control, yet God comes in and says I am in control it is My will which must be done not yours.

So yes there have been many hardships in getting us to this point in the year, but take heart rely not on yourselves but rely on God, put full trust in Him as you are reminded of the birth, the greatest gift to mankind, God being with us (Immanuel).

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish" we have hope only in God and in God's will.

May there be peace and love among brothers and sisters in Christ and joy in the family as we remember that God's will was done and His will is still done today.

May it be your prayer.
