Christmas is upon us. - For God soloved the world

Image
I hope everyone has had sometime to remember the stories that lead up to the birth of Christ, for many years I have enjoyed sharing a flash mob video of a choir singing the Hallelujah chorus in a food court nothing has topped it yet but this comes a close second, enjoy. "16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so tha

The Problem of Pain? - C.S.Lewis

Often times we go through some hard times and when we get through it we don;t always know ho we did, but it always leaves behind a sense that we are better or it is over, and, we realize that it wasn't too much and we have grown and can handle more in future. As the Apostle said perseverance builds character. Silver is refined through fire made purer and more precious.

Blessed are the poor in spirit - The words of Jesus.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. " Matt 5:3 An interesting extract one might come away thinking how can poorness in spirit be good for us. Jesus is speaking to people and asking them to inspect their own status and to realize their need. Many are the people who go around thinking they are perfect/well balanced/in need of nothing either not interested in their spiritual lives or arrogantly thinking they have it covered. However Jesus is saying those who realize or who are honest with themselves and with God are blessed, the woman who touched Jesus knew she needed healing and reached out in desperation, the sinner on the cross reached out and was saved. Our sin is often times glossed over or compared to others to make us feel better about ourselves, you know look how terrible such and such is "I'm better than they are" we lie to ourselves as if a lie can save us, but the blessing is for those who need it much like medici

Voting As A Christian - Dinesh D'Souza & Tolerance Is Unbiblical - Josh McDowell

Image
I thought it a good idea to post both of these as both seem counter cultural, perhaps a little controversial topics, in a sense folks want you not to vote as a Christian but rather as a secularist for the day and tolerance today has become a word used as a weapon to force someone with a different view to accept yours as true.  So have a listen and share your thoughts if you would like and hopefully we can see our world with Christian eyes   Special Guest Dinesh D'Souza answers the question "How does a Christian enter the voting booth appropriately?"
