Fishers of Men - The Words of Yeshu.

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." Matt 4:19

Those which take this verse lightly, forget what happened to the Apostles. To stand for truth while being persecuted is not easy, many come to churches to have titles, positions and to boast about their knowledge and "gifts", they chase wealth, health and prosperity but let us see how many of them would face walking from town to town, beatings, stoning, hunger, cold, rain, thirst, being boiled alive and sickness all just to tell someone else one story, very few that I have laid my eyes upon would do that for people they love but no-one for those who do not deserve it, no-one for their enemy.

Come and follow me they left everything, they were chosen and given to Jesus for His ministry, and for the Gospel, their message would be taken to the whole world, but here we see Jesus' calls to follow Him in both senses, to learn from Him while abiding with Him and to follow later His example of carrying the message about the Kingdom of Heaven to all, the Gospel with all it's ramifications.

Jesus continues to say why they should follow Him, to make them fishers of men, with the Gospel as their net, "I" will do it, it is Christ who instructs and who enables and who does the transformation of men for His ministry and those to whom are ministered the Gospel.

Only true faith in Jesus and the saving grace of God can carry us through, in this day and age when Christians are being persecuted on all sides, called hateful bigots for speaking truth and holding to His teachings in so called tolerant countries. This is nothing new, the Apostles faced much worse than most of us have, "3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly."

So I pray that no matter your circumstances that your eyes, hearts, soul and mind my remain in Christ and that you will always have the ability to rejoice as you throw out the nets and He does His work. May the Lord bless you with love in your hearts by the Holy Spirit as you go and follow Him.

God Bless.
